As a Centre of Mini-invasive Surgery we perform a wide spectrum of operations. The surgeons in our centre are experienced in performing adjustable banding of the stomach for obesity, removal of gall bladder and of appendix, surgery of gullet hernia, operations for reflux disease, operation of inguinual hernia, cicatrice hernia, and others. Please, study the details of the individual operations. We opt for laparoscopy during surgery, which has numerous advantages.
Gastric banding in obesity
Removal of stomach
Removal or vermiform appendix
Surgery of gullet hernia and surgery for heart-burn and gullet inflammation
Surgery of inguinual hernia
Surgery of other types of abdominal hernia
We perform other surgeries, as well, for example, certain classical abdominal operations. We do surgery of varices of lower extremities.
We offer a complex treatment of diseases in the region of the rectum, including the surgery of hemorrhoid knots.
All these surgical procedures at our workplace are covered by most health insurance companies and the patient does not have to pay anything extra. The payment is required only for those procedures that are generally not covered by the insurance companies.
The Surgical Ward of the Clinical Centre Iscare Lighthouse provides a complex surgical care. We have three modern operating rooms, intensive care unit and an Inpatient Ward including all necessary facilities that enables us to perform surgery under local or complete anesthesia, together with hospitalization, and provide post-operative care to hospitalized patients. We can also perform an outpatient care, including minor outpatient procedures with local anesthesia.
What Is Laparoscopy
Laparoscopy is a modern surgical approach thanks to which there are smaller scars and lesser strain on the patient. The abdominal cavity is entered by means of several small scars and special entries, using optical instruments and a camera together with special tools. That means the usual incision of the abdomen is not needed. A big advantage of such surgeries is markedly lower post-operative pain in the scar, faster recovery of the digestive tract, the patients are able to walk sooner and be self-sufficient, and they need shorter hospitalization and shorter sick leave. Another benefit is a lower risk in the problems of healing of scars. On the other hand, such a surgery is always performed under a complete anesthesia. In case there is a complication during such surgery, e.g. extensive adhesions between the organs in the abdominal cavity or anatomic anomalies at the spot of operation a so-called conversion is needed when the surgery has to be finished by a typical incision.
The comfort of surgery is enhanced by the fact that we are equipped by new high-tech devices, new laparoscopes and tools, by harmonic scalpel and very modern operating room.
