The aim of this examination is to monitor pressure changes in the sphincters and pelvic floor muscles during various physiological tasks. This is done with the help of modern 3D manometry with high resolution.


Detailed rectal examination with modern  3D manometry

  • The use of modern 3D High Resolution manometry allows us to accurately examine the rectum and rectum, enabling a detailed assessment of functional disorders of the pelvic floor muscles and sphincters. The aim of this examination is to monitor pressure changes in the muscles during various physiological tasks.

  • The patient's cooperation is essential in this examination. Based on the doctor's instructions, the patient performs actions such as coughing, clenching or pushing. The examination with the manometric probe is performed lying on the left side with the lower limbs flexed, with measurements lasting 10 to 15 minutes. A 4 mm probe is inserted into the rectum to a depth of approximately 8 cm.

Preparing for the examination

  • We recommend that a saline enema is applied just before the examination. The enema is freely available in the pharmacy.

Dietary restrictions

  • There are no food or drink restrictions during this preparation. Any restrictions on diet and physical activity will be communicated to you by your doctor immediately after the examination.
