This allows for ultrasound imaging of the rectal wall, sphincters, and surrounding area, including the prostate and seminal vesicles in men and the vagina and, partially, the uterus in women.

• In indicated cases, it is necessary to perform local bowel cleansing in the form of an enema before the examination.
