A modern approach to the treatment of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis

Treatment for both diseases involves drug therapy and, in some cases, surgery. An interesting fact is that the proportion of surgical treatment varies significantly between these diseases. While approximately 10–15% of patients with ulcerative colitis require surgical treatment, up to 80% of patients with Crohn's disease undergo surgery.

Although these diseases cannot be definitively cured with medication, modern therapeutic approaches currently exist that allow most patients to live a normal life without significant limitations. In our efforts to provide effective care, we have incorporated the latest methods into our treatment spectrum, including biological therapy, which represents a revolutionary step towards rapid inflammation relief and symptom remission.

Research into intestinal inflammation: Pushing the boundaries of gentle care and effective treatment

Our efforts are focused on uncovering the roots and chronic course of intestinal inflammation and discovering new perspectives in the medical treatment of these complex diseases. We are proud of our close cooperation with the First Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague and are actively involved in international European projects with universities in Barcelona, Regensburg, and Nottingham.

  • Our efforts are not limited by borders, which is why we also actively participate in projects organized by the European Crohn's and Colitis Organization (ECCO).

  • In addition, we perform specialized endoscopic procedures such as therapeutic interventions of the digestive tract, dilation of stenoses, polypectomy, and mucosal resection, along with Zenker's diverticulum therapy. At our facility, we use state-of-the-art technology, including EndoAlfa equipment, to ensure the most effective procedures and care for our patients.

  • Our research activities drive us forward in our efforts to provide the best possible solutions for the treatment of intestinal inflammation and to bring innovation to the field of gastroenterology.
